A Short History of Villa Gigli |
Architect Frank W. Green, Gina's father, designed the first Gigli building in Markleeville, a small tipi-shaped vacation cabin on nine acres of pasture, which Ruggero and Gina laughingly called Villa Gigli. Over time, they added rooms and outbuildings to their home, and they founded Villa Gigli Press to produce etchings. In the 80s, they added another building near Hot Springs Road, an etching studio and gallery. Aftter returning to Markleeville from a four year "sabbatical" in Napa Valley, they opened Villa Gigli Collection, Trattoria and Galleria, in their former art studio.
